Building on Llama-2's Capabilities
LeoLM is built on the foundation of Llama-2, Meta's second-generation large language model. Llama-2 has been pre-trained on 2 trillion tokens and fine-tuned on over a million human-annotated examples. LeoLM extends Llama-2's capabilities into German through continued pre-training on a large corpus of German-language text.
Availability and Applications
LeoLM is available for commercial and research use. It can be used for a variety of applications, including text generation, translation, question answering, and chatbots. LeoLM is also the first open and commercially available German Foundation Language Model.
