Apple has unveiled iOS 18, the latest major update to its mobile operating system, bringing a host of new features and customization options to iPhone users. The update, scheduled for release this fall, includes a complete redesign that promises to be the most significant in iOS history.

One of the most notable additions to iOS 18 is RCS support, an upgrade to the traditional SMS messaging protocol. This will allow users to send and receive higher-quality messages with features like read receipts and group chats.

iOS 18 also introduces several AI-powered features, including Smart Replies for messages and a generative retouch tool for photos. The update also brings privacy enhancements, such as Locked and Hidden apps, and a host of new Messages features, including scheduled messages and more tapback reactions.

Apple has also announced that iOS 18 will be supported on all iPhone models that currently support iOS 17, providing a wide range of users access to the new features.

The iOS 18 update is expected to be released to the public in mid to late September. Apple will showcase the software update in greater detail during its WWDC keynote on June 10.
